JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
POLICE OFFICER IN THE MARINE PATROL UNIT
POLICE DEPARTMENT
VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE

The Village of Key Biscayne Police Department is accepting applications for a Police Office in the Marine Patrol Unit.
Interested applicants should submit a Cover Letter and Resume to Charles R. Press, Chief of Police, no later than twenty (20) days from the date of this publication.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Minimum of three (3) years of Marine Patrol experience.
- Above average performance evaluations and attendance record.
- Above average court attendance, driving and Internal Affairs records.
- Above average writing skills.
- Be mature, enthusiastic and highly self-motivated.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours to include all shifts, weekends, holidays and available for recall during off duty hours.
- Diving and vessel operating experience preferred.
- Must possess strict disciplinary ethics.
- Computer skills a plus.
Applicants must perform the following swim test to be eligible to proceed. Date and time of swim test will be announced.
- Swim 800 yards in 19 minutes with mask, fins and snorkel.
- Swim 400 yards in 12 minutes.
- Tread water 12 minutes, last 3 minutes with hands out of water.
- Retrieve a 10 lb. weight from 12 feet of water.
- Swim underwater for 75 feet on one breath.
