At the request of the Village and residents after repeated power issues in the area, FPL has expedited line maintenance trimming along the lateral serving Cypress Drive and Harbor Drive. Crews and spray trucks from the Miami-Dade County Mosquito Control Division will be in the Village before 6:00 a.m., July 4, to spray against mosquitoes. Village officials requested the spray mission prior to the annual July 4th parade and fireworks that are attended by thousands of residents and visitors.

Beginning on June 19, 2014 a single lane closure will be setup on Bear Cut Bridge heading eastbound towards Key Biscayne. The eastbound shoulder and right (southernmost) traffic lane will be closed daily from 7 PM to 3 PM through July 3, 2014. During this time the asphalt and joint work on the remaining sections of Bear Cut Bridge will be completed.
