The Causeways Division of Miami-Dade County Department of Public Works issued a press release on October 1, 2007, notifying the public that cash tolls rates on the Rickenbacker and Venetian Causeways will increase effective October 15, 2007. The new Rickenbacker fee schedule is as follows:

According to a PDF of the press release, the higher "rates were approved as part of the Fiscal Year 2007-2008 Budget presented by the Mayor and approved by the Board of County Commissioners." The increases are needed in "order to continue to fund needed Capital Improvements projects on the Rickenbacker and Venetian Causeways’ bridges, roads, and shorelines."
As of Tuesday morning, October 2, officials at the Rickenbacker Causeway toll booth had no information on possible increases of C-Pass rates for residents and non-residents.
