Village Officials In Contact with County Concerning Offshore Sewer Outfall Leak

Posted: Wednesday, August 2, 2017 5:45 pm

Village officials have been in and remain in contact with Miami-Dade County officials regarding the sewer outfall pipe leak offshore from the Virginia Key Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Water quality tests conducted by the State Department of Health have shown safe levels throughout our beachfront areas. County officials expect the leak to be temporarily sealed within the next 24 hours with a permanent seal to follow.

We will provide further updates if needed.
