Residents should expect nighttime detours along Ocean Lane Drive near Crandon Boulevard for stormwater system improvements beginning Tuesday, June 13, 2017. Estimated completion will be Friday, June 16. To minimize disruption to local traffic, work will be conducted at night from 9:00 pm. to 5:00 a.m. Contractors will install a backflow preventer in an existing drainage structure at the south side of Ocean Lane Drive near the intersection with Crandon Boulevard.
Nightly closures of the northbound sidewalk and bicycle lane along Crandon Boulevard from Key Colony to Ocean Lane Drive will occur. The western end of Ocean Lane Drive near the work site will be narrowed to one lane each way as shown in the Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) map below. Detours and closures will be indicated by signs and traffic cones. An off-duty police officer will be stationed near the area.
Construction equipment and crews will be in the area and noise will occur. Take caution while driving or passing by the work site. Work will cease at 5:00 a.m., the excavator will be moved off-site and the area secured. Cones will be removed and signs pushed down until the next night's work.
