Traffic Alert: Mack Cycle Triathlon Trilogy III on Sunday Auguat 13, 2017

The Mack Cycle and Fitness Triathlon Trilogy III will take place on Sunday, August 13, 2017. The triathlon is hosted at the Miami Marine Stadium Flex Park. The cycling portion of the event takes place along the Rickenbacker Causeway, Arthur Lamb, Jr. Road (ALJ) and Crandon Boulevard roadways using a Reverse Traffic Flow Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plan detailed below. The running and swimming portions take place within the park grounds and around the basin.

Please allow extra time to reach off-island destinations and return to the Key during this event.

When: August 13, 2017 - Sunday (4:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m. ALJ road closure 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.)

Where:  Miami Marine Stadium Flex Park (3501 Rickenbacker Causeway, Miami - FL - 33149 + (Cycling portion of Triathlon on Causeway Roadway)

Reverse Traffic Flow Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plan:

The cycling portion of the event will have the race participants departing from the Miami Marine Stadium Flex Park main exit, turning right onto the Rickenbacker Causeway roadway. The race will continue to travel in a westerly direction (towards the mainland) on the north side of the causeway, to Hobie Island center median. At this point cyclists will then U-turn (Turn # 1) and travel back in an easterly direction toward the Crandon Park Lot number 4, cyclists will then U-turn (Turn # 2) on the roadway, traveling westerly to the Arthur Lamb Jr. Road (ALJ). Cyclists will turn right onto the ALJ, traveling to the end of the Virginia Beach, Water and Sewer Department road split, U-turn (Turn # 3) once more traveling back toward the Rickenbacker Causeway, turning right traveling westerly to the point of origin.  During the event, vehicular traffic will be routed onto the south side (Miami Seaquarium side) of the causeway in a counter-flow manner, from the Crandon Park maintenance loop (Calusa Circle), to the Hobie Island center median. The running, swimming, finish and awards ceremony will take place within the Miami Marine Stadium Flex Park.
