Alert: Severe Weather Potential from Wednesday, May 1, through Friday, May 3, 2019

The National Weather Service (NWS) is forecasting a potential for strong to severe storms starting tonight until Friday across South Florida.

 

A Tropical Disturbance (area of low pressure) now over the northwest Bahamas will move toward South Florida. The NWS predicts average rain amounts of 1-1.5 inches with possible locally heavier amounts exceeding 3 inches. Flooding of poorly drained areas is possible. Hazardous boating conditions and rip currents are also expected for Atlantic waters.
