Residents of single-family homes and duplexes are reminded that no garbage pick-up will occur on Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25th. The next service day will be Monday, December 29, as regularly scheduled. A long awaited tradition, Christmas Tree Recycling, is back thanks to joint efforts between the Village and the Key Biscayne Community Church.

During preparations for this weekend's Winterfest, Village staff noticed asp caterpillars (also called puss caterpillars) on and under oak trees in the Village Green. This larval form of a moth resembles a colored elongated ball of cotton and has fur-like spines (see photo below). Contact with these spines can cause reactions in susceptible individuals.
