Public Education Programs


The Village of Key Biscayne Police Department provides several education programs for residents each year. Please call (305) 365-5555 for more information.

  • D.A.R.E. (Grades K-5): Youth Awareness Programs are conducted in partnership with Village elementary and middle schools:

    The program is taught by Officer Vicki Hernandez who can be reached at vhernandez@kbpd.net.

    D.A.R.E. has teamed up with Ouchies Bandages to develop a line of anti-bullying bandages. The "Bullying Stops with Me" bandages are available at www.ouchiesonline.com and, as of August 2012 in Miami-Dade, at Mercy Hospital Gift Shop and It's Sugar at Sunset Place Mall (the closest locations to the Village).
  • Citizen's Police Academy - Interested parties should inquire when the next session will be held

  • Self-Defense Awareness Familiarization Exchange (S.A.F.E.) - This program is for girls and women of all ages. Females under 15 years old must be accompanied by an adult female. Interested parties should inquire when the next session will be held.
