What is the procedure for making a complaint about a police department employee?

The complaint process can begin in person at the Police Station or by calling (305) 365-5555 and requesting a supervisor. Results will be provided to the complainant immediately and are subject to public records law.

At what time does the Village Noise Ordinance take effect?

Common noise complaints can be reported at or after 11:00 pm to the Police Department's non emergency number at (305) 365-5555. Excessive noise can be reported at any time to (305) 365-5555 and an officer will investigate.

How can I get a Hurricane Pass?

Hurricane Passes can be obtained online prior to the June 1 start of the Atlantic Hurricane Season or from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday in the Police Administration office located in Suite 1XX of Village Hall.

Please note that only local Business Owners/Representatives and Multifamily Property Managers/Representatives are eligible to receive Passes.

How do I receive information on crime statistics within the Village?

A Crime report mapping program that shows locations and details of reported crimes can be accessed by clicking on an icon at the Village website. Else you may request a paper copy from the Police Administration Office, Suite 1XX in Village Hall, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday - Friday.

What is the procedure for placing my property at the station for safe keeping?

Bring your property to the Police Department Main Lobby, in Suite 1XX of Village Hall, and an officer will assist you with your request.

What number do I call in case of an emergency?

Always call 911. Call (305) 365-5555 for non-emergency assistance.

What number do I call to report a non-emergency situation?

Call (305) 365-5555 for non-emergency assistance. Always call 911 in an emergency.

How do I get in touch with a detective to follow up on my case?

A detective is automatically notified of your case and initiates the follow-up. S/he can be reached at (305) 365-5555 if you have additional questions.

Where do I go to register my golf cart, bicycle or dog?

Golf carts can be registered at any time; ask the dispatcher on duty in the main lobby of the Police Department located in Suite 1XX, Village Hall, for assistance.

Bicycles and dogs can be registered Monday - Friday from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm in the Police Administration office located in Suite 1XX of Village Hall.

Where do I go to receive a copy of a Police report?

Copies of Police reports can be obtained the Police Administration office, located in Suite 1XX of Village Hall, from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday.

Can the police watch my property while I am away on vacation?

Yes. Call the Police Department at (305) 365-5555 and request the service by providing dates of departure and return.
