Streetscape and Landscape Maintenance


The Public Works Division is responsible for the installation and maintenance of landscape and streetscape elements of public areas of the Village. The Division works closely with other Divisions in the Building, Zoning, Planning and Public Works Department, the Parks and Recreation Department and several contractors to meet the aesthetic and functional needs of Village residents.
 
Areas of responsibility include:

 

  • Land and facilities within the Village Green, Lake Park, Beach Park, East Enid Linear Park, Calusa Park and pocket parks

  • Beach and dune system maintenance along Village shoreline frontage

  • Playing fields used by agreement with other parties (St. Agnes Field, Key Biscayne K-8 Center Field)

  • Landscaped medians, traffic calming devices and swales along Crandon Boulevard and the public rights-of-way along Village streets

  • Public building landscapes

  • Street trees

  • Public area trash pick-up

  • Street surfaces, traffic calming devices and sidewalks

  • Fountains

  • Bridges

  • Storm sewer inlet drains
