Henry "Hank" Banks Island History Mural
The mural on view in the
Village Hall’s first floor Community Room has enjoyed a long life in the
community.
VILLAGE HISTORY MURAL
Charles ‘Bebe’ Rebozo
commissioned Henry ‘Hank’ Banks to paint a
mural for the official opening of the Key Biscayne Bank on March 10, 1964. The
24-foot mural depicts vignettes from the island’s
history and lore since the 1500s. The mural was displayed in the lobby
of the bank and its successors for 38 years before being donated to the Village
of Key Biscayne. It is now installed in the Community
Room on the Ground Floor of the Civic Center.
