COVID-19 Village News and Reminders

Impacts of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Key Biscayne Businesses

As our VKB community continues struggling to contain the pandemic, it is important for the Village of Key Biscayne and Key Biscayne Chamber of Commerce to continuously monitor the impact COVID-19 is having on our local businesses.

If you are a business owner or in management, please take our survey. It will only take a few minutes of your time, and your feedback is crucial, so we may best understand your challenges to determine what the Village of Key Biscayne and the Key Biscayne Chamber of Commerce can do to assist our business community.

Key Biscayne's Specialized Education Guide

Check out below the Key Biscayne's Specialized Education Guide curated by the Key Biscayne Chamber of Commerce which includes information on non-traditional learning, innovative individualized learning, and home school help, tutoring, test prep, etc. Also, make sure to review the latest information on Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) open for Back to School immunizations.

COVID-19 Positive Cases

There are a total of 518,075 cases of COVID-19 in Florida, 129,409 of which are in Miami-Dade County.

The reported number of positive cases in the Village has increased to 345 according to the FDOH report, or 406 according to Florida's COVID-19 Data and Surveillance Dashboard.

COVID-19 New Cases Per Day in Key Biscayne

The reported number of new cases per day in the Village continues to increase based on results provided by BioCollections Lab. It should be noted that BioCollections does report positives to the FDOH; however, there is a lag in the timing between when the lab notifies the FDOH of positives cases and when the FDOH issues its reports. The increase in daily positives suggest that COVID19 safety protocols should be diligently followed (for example, wearing face coverings, maintaining social distance, and hand washing).

COVID-19 Testing on the Key

To make an appointment for COVID-19 testing, residents can call the COVID-19 Response Call Center (305-365-8910) or click the button below to visit the online portal.

Additionally, due to high demand and the decrease in availability of test kits, drive-thru testing for COVID-19 is open to any Key Biscayne resident for $85 per test per person, and scheduling is also subject to available time slots.

Next week, drive-thru testing will open on Monday, August 10 and Thursday, August 13 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
