Officials Monitoring Tropical Wave Moving WNW Across Bahamas: Expect Heavy Rain in Key Biscayne Late Sept. 2 and Sept. 3, 2018

County and Village officials are monitoring a tropical wave (Invest 91L) that is currently moving WNW across the southeastern and central Bahamas.

The potential impact for South Florida, including Key Biscayne, is heavy rainfall.
 
According to the Miami-Dade Emergency Management notification, rains will begin tonight (Sunday, September 2) and last through Labor Day. Isolated strong to severe thunderstorms with gusty winds of 45 mph may occur. There is a possibility of tornado development in South Florida during this time.
