The Village Goes Green Initiative

2018 Update

The "Village Goes Green Initiative" was formally approved by the Key Biscayne Village Council in September 2007. The program was created thanks to the leadership of former Councilmember Pat Woodson Weinman and the support of former Mayor Robert Vernon. More information about the history of the program is available here. In addition, the Village sponsors or supports a variety of environmental education and monitoring initiatives.

The scope of VGGI will change with expected implementation of aspects of the Sustainability Plan (PDF) presented to Village Council in April 2014 by the Council-appointed Green Committee. Items have been considered in subsequent budget presentations for upcoming fiscal years.
