The following resources are intended to answer basic questions about community services you may have. They may be especially useful for new residents or for visitors considering relocating to Key Biscayne. Telephone numbers, email contacts and website addresses are provided for local utilities, schools, public transportation, the library, the post office, and the property tax assessor. Tips on how to obtain a driver’s license and passport, register to vote, and get flood insurance are included. Additional information about life in our community is available throughout the website.
PUBLIC UTILITIES
Customer service and other contact information for electric, water and sewer, telephone, cable/satellite TV and internet service providers in the Village can can be found here.
SOLID WASTE, RECYCLING & BULK WASTE PICK-UP
This fee-based service is provided to single-family and duplex residents only via a Village contractor. Pick-up schedules and detailed information for regular solid waste, recyclables and bulky waste in 2019 can be found at the Solid Waste, Recycling & Bulk Waste Pick-Up webpage.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
Miami-Dade Transit Authority provides bus, light rail, people mover, and paratransit services.
Metrobus: Bus #102 (Route B) includes the Village as follows:
Government Center Metrorail Station, Downtown (Miami) Bus Terminal, Main Library, Historical Museum of South Florida, Miami Art Museum, Brickell Metrorail Station, Brickell Business District, Rickenbacker Causeway, Miami Seaquarium, Crandon Park, City of Key Biscayne, Cape Florida State Park

Metrorail: The closest access to the County’s light rail system is the Vizcaya Station at 201 SW First Avenue, across US 1 from the Museum of Science. The local Metrobus route stops at the Brickell and Government Center Stations.
Metromover: Many downtown locations from Brickell to Omni are easily accessible via this free automated people mover system accessible via 21 stations. The system connects to Metrorail at the Government Center and Brickell stations.

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY TAX APPRAISER
Detailed information about your property taxes is available online through Miami-Dade County’s Real Estate Tax Information search program.
Property taxes are established by the Miami-Dade County Property Appraiser’s Office. Exemption details, rules and regulations and other information are available at the website. Property taxes are collected by the Miami-Dade County Tax Collector’s Office.
DRIVER'S LICENSE/I.D. CARD – State of Florida
Directions on how and where to obtain or renew a Florida Driver’s License are available at the state Department of Motor Vehicles website. The site also has information on State ID cards, Florida driving records, driver’s education, traffic schools, vehicle registration, auto insurance, and used vehicle histories.
PASSPORT APPLICATIONS – U.S. State Department
The Village of Key Biscayne and the U.S. Post Office Key Biscayne Branch are certified acceptance facilities for U.S. passport applications. Rules, downloadable forms, travel advisories and other information are available at the U.S. State Department passport web pages.
Passport processing takes place on the 2nd floor of the Village’s Community Center at 10 Village Green Way from Monday to Friday between the hours of 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Appointments are required and you must bring passport-sized photos. Call (305) 365-8900 to schedule your visit.
Passport processing is available by appointment at the Post Office on Mondays - Fridays between the hours 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Photos can be taken on site.

VOTER REGISTRATION
Although elections in the Village are overseen by the Village Clerk, voter registration and applications for absentee ballots are processed through the Miami-Dade County Elections Department. Information and instructions are available here.
FLOOD INSURANCE PREMIUM INFORMATION
The Village of Key Biscayne lies in a federally designated high-risk coastal zone that requires mandatory flood insurance. Information on how local flood insurance premiums are calculated and how to protect your home and property from storm surges is available here.
