Special Events Division

Parks & Recreation Department

The Special Events Division is responsible for the coordination of Village-sponsored annual special events and serves as a liaison to local community and civic groups organizing special events.  Some events are organized and underwritten exclusively by the Village. For others the Village is a co-sponsor with local service, professional and non-profit organizations as well as volunteer committees and residents.

Many cultural events and off-island excursions are organized through Community Center's Adult, Senior and Youth programming staff. These include opular excursion trips for adults and seniors to the to the theater, ballet, museums, parks, and shopping destinations. Details of upcoming events for adults and seniors, as well as for youths, are available at the Active Islander website, the online version of Village's thrice yearly quality of life publication that features Community Center programming, althletics and seasonal special events.
