Storm Sewers

A Village-wide storm sewer installation project was completed in 1996, alleviating chronic flooding problems after even short-intensity rainstorms. Segments of three residential streets that did not receive storm sewers in 1996 recevied them in 2006.

Clearly marked inlet drains are visible throughout the Village in the swales bordering streets. Residents are asked to

  • help keep inlets free of clogging yard debris

  • not pour any hazardous liquids into the openings, as they drain directly to the bay, and

  • call the Public Works Department at (305) 365-8945 to report problems
