The Engineer works under the general direction of the Public Works Director and performs engineering work related to municipal operations, and provides project management for City projects including scoping, budget preparation, planning, surveying, design, permitting, bidding and contract administration. This position requires an individual with strong project management skills.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in civil/mechanical/environmental engineering or a closely related field.
  • Four (4) years of work experience in the design and construction of public works projects, including but not limited to stormwater, roadway, storm water, and parks.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Suite, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and ArcGIS.
  • Registration as an Engineer Intern (EI) in the State of Florida is preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Responsibilities include but not limited to management of capital projects, engineering review of permit plans and applications, traffic/transportation engineering, in-house design projects including roadways, parking, and drainage, coordination and assistance with GIS, coordination and assistance with engineering inspections, regulatory permitting and compliance, response to public records requests, and other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

 SALARY RANGE:   $69,344.53 – 113,378.30
